Alameda County
Our efforts in this county began in earnest in February 2006. Steve Bischoff, Executive Director of MHA - Alameda County, consulted with his Board of Directors about how to effectively incorporate this project into other endeavors in Alameda County. As a result, we had a very important planning meeting in February 2006 that included Marye Thomas, Mental Health Director for Alameda County, representatives of the local provider organizations, and staff from the county Department of Behavioral Sciences. As an initial meeting, many ideas were discussed and target populations were considered. A proposed outreach plan was in development as of April 2006. We continue with the process of meeting with interested local organizations with the hope of building strong collaborative relationships that will address outreach to unserved communities within this county.
