Statewide Steering Committee
One of the objectives of this project is to establish local and statewide advisory committees to provide policy and program guidance in the development of culturally appropriate mental health services, through community stakeholder engagement in the project. The stakeholders include, but are not limited to, public and private mental health service providers, Primary Care Clinics, Law Enforcement, Education, Community Based Organizations, and faith based organizations.
MHAC met informally with community organizations during the initial contact period for this grant. Additionally, we have a large number of individuals that have worked on other similar project that will be recruited for this committee.
One of the MHAC's primary goals with former grantees from the California Endowment's Special Mental Health Initiative is to position them to be strong leaders in the development of Prevention and Early Intervention programs under the Mental Health Services Act statewide.
